- Pastor richard blake
Pastor Richard E. Blake was born in Muncie, Indiana on January 20, 1946 to the parents of Grace and Oliver Underwood. Richard was the second of nine children. He was raised in Elkhart Indiana.
He gave his life to Christ at the age of seven years old. He was baptized in the St. Joseph River in Elkhart and began singing in the choir at the age of nine at the Roberts Temple of Elkhart where is father was an Elder. By age eleven he began singing with a group called the Spiritual Harmonizers, traveling to Chicago, Gary Indiana, Detroit Michigan and Ohio.
At the age of fifteen, his love to sing and travel caused conflict in his home and in school. So he dropped out of school and in an attempt to stay out of the streets and out of trouble, with the consent of his parents, young pastor Blake enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on October 24, 1962. He received his GED in the Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam, returning home to his wife and twin girls.
Pastor Blake began to further his education and attended Ivy Tech, studying computer design and plastic molding. He also attended Southwestern Michigan University, earning a certificate in statistical control and production.
Pastor Blake was called to minister and began ministering in 1997, after attending Trinity Bible School. He received his ministry license through Universal Church of Christ. Pastor Blake moved to Georgia in 1999, serving for a brief period as a deacon at the Tabernacle of Hope C.O.G.I.C. of Decatur GA.
While living in Lawrenceville GA, he began attending Freedom Christian Ministry 2005. Pastor Blake served as Sunday school teacher and bible study teacher. He was ordained as an Elder under the covering of Pastor Aaron Rushing.
Pastor Blake heard from God to pastor a church in 2008. He wrestled with this in his spirit, stating the last thing he wanted to become was a pastor, knowing and seeing what pastors had to endure. He also didn’t feel worthy enough to lead God’s people because of several divorces. He was also a single man at the time of his call to pastor.
God began to show Pastor Blake the plans he had for him. He placed a wonderful women in his life by the name of Thomasina Seaborn, an Evangelist and mighty women of God. They were married in November of 2009. Together, Pastor Blake and his wife have nine children, sixteen grandchildren and a three great grandchildren.
On November 27, 2011, Pastor Blake and his wife Thomasina started Seed of Faith Tabernacle at their home in Stone Mountain, GA.
